The HEREFORD QUAKER TAPESTRY

In 1981 Anne Wynn-Wilson, and a young pupil, had the idea that it would be of interest to portray the history and achievements of the Society in the form of a tapestry, rather like the Bayeux Tapestry.
Friends from all over the world were enrolled in this massive task and the result is a collection of 77 tapestry panels which is now kept at the Friends Meeting House,Stramongate, Kendal and is well worth a visit. (Tel:- 01539-722975).

A few Friends in Hereford Meeting decided that to celebrate three centuries of Quaker worship in Hereford we should design and create our own Tapestry Panel. The resulting panel, is hung in the Meeting House in King St. and postcards are available.
